HEY! That post was a play on the board nickname for Dr. Wood - Dr. Martin Luther Sting Jr.

That specific CSUS number isn't known (or published). The CSU cut 1,430 course offeringssystem-wide in 24-25.

Earlier this year, Dr. Wood announced restoration of 275 new sections for 25-26 budget, plus these 150 new sections mid-year for Spring semester. I would think that 425 new class sections in 25-26 exceeds SAC's portion of the original 1,430 cut in 24-25.

President Luke Wood’s messages to students, faculty, and staff.

150+ new sections being added for spring

November 20, 2025 - We are pleased to share that thanks to the tireless advocacy of campus leaders, the Chancellor’s Office has recognized Sacramento State's dedicated efforts to increase enrollment and improve retention. They have acknowledged our persistent requests for additional support to help us navigate the fiscal challenges that this complex enrollment situation has created.

To universities that successfully increased enrollment or invested in student retention, the Chancellor’s Office has provided a one-time allocation to campuses that exceeded their 2024–25 enrollment goals and funded levels. Sacramento State has met that mark and will be receiving this allocation.

In light of this recognition, I am excited to share that we will be adding 157 new course sections to the Spring schedule, opening up 4,199 seats for students. We are able to create this expansion because of the faculty, staff, and academic departments that have demonstrated significant commitment to supporting student success and timely graduation.

To our faculty and staff, thank you for all that you do for our students.

    Fake news!

You do realize this is the EARLY signing period, right? Last year Sac signed 10, this year 11. 14 in 2023 and 11 in 2022 (coming off 12 win season).

Many of those kids want to wait until February to ensure they take their best offer. Especially after the portal opens 1/2/26.

"Promised donations" are okay, but Sac State's "pledges" are sus... got it. LOL

  • 2025 FCS Playoff Prognostication
    From Sac State Media Team:

    THE CASE FOR SAC STATE

The field for the 24-team NCAA FCS Playoffs will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 23, on ESPNU at 9 a.m PT. With the addition of the Ivy League for the first time, there will be 11 automatic qualifiers and 13 at-large selections.

A victory by Sacramento State would give the team eight NCAA Div. I wins which has been the benchmark for earning an at-large selection. The team would also be guaranteed to finish in sole possession of third place in the Big Sky with a 6-2 conference record.

Since 2018, the Big Sky has placed at least four teams in the FCS Playoffs each year and has had five in three of the past four seasons. The league has had at least three teams in the playoffs every season since 2012 except 2017 (two).

The Hornets are currently 19th in the Massey Ratings which is the computer poll used by the committee. The team is also 15th in the Massey Power index and offensive rating and 26th in strength of schedule. That number will improve after this week as UC Davis is ninth overall in the Massey.

Sacramento State will also be one of the hottest team's in the FCS at the end of the season. With a win this weekend, the team will have won its last four games, six of its last seven and eight of its final 10 games of the year.

The Hornets have an offensive efficiency rating of +7.52 points per game against FCS opponents. The rating is calculated by figuring the difference in points scored by Sacramento State compared to the average in that team's other games. The team has a defensive rating of +2.6 points per game.

You realize only some of the MAC games are moved to mid-week, only in November, and are on ESPN and ESPN2. Not ESPN+ or ESPNU, or the Ocho or Pluto TV.

This will all come down to whether or not SAC's talent/athleticism can result in more made buckets than they give up with their terrible, terrible defense. I'll be tuned in!

SAC is going to have to take their medicine and prove themselves in either in the C-USA or the MAC if they want to go to the PAC or MWC.

My money is on a C-USA invite in November.
