I have to wonder whether or not there is more lenience with a sport (football in this case) that has much fewer events per season than other sports and is much more prone to season-ending impact injuries. Baseball and basketball play more games in any given season, therefore, the odds of eligibility debates due to injury depending on a single game is much less likely by the time season ends. All that to say, the more events in a season, the more likely injury eligibility is clear cut and doesn't hang on the balance of one scheduled game.

On the bright side, I think this Demond Williams debacle will light a fire under governing bodies to make some changes. Hopefully, positive ones.

I just don't understand what donors would continue to part ways with their cash only to see the athletes turn around and leave. I just don't get it. That happens only one time and that wallet is closed. Now, schools like Davis make a little more sense, granted their retention rate is higher, but still. I'll bet we have 2, maybe 3 years of this before big donors (at other schools especially) throw in the towel.

UCD staff being so quiet on recruiting/transfers is equal parts frightening and encouraging :lol:
