The shovel pass is new and yeah we had a truck play but still not much in the way of sweeps, gadgetry, anything that would get playmakers the ball in the Hawkins era

I get the feeling Lan or Tompkins or someone is going to have to take it to the house from some distance. Between mental errors (penalties) and general red zone malaise I just think they are going to need to bust one from outside.

19 passes, 14 rushes. Furthest pass down field has been 10 to 15 yards. No shots. Southern Utah blocking well upfront offensively, and starting to impose will in the running again.

Some positives:

Two explosive plays were a Lan Larison rush and a Josh Gale screen.

Miles has been efficient.

Defense gave up 7 points in a half.

D Line has gotten pressure the second straight week. Need to finish rushes.

Agree. Rush needs to get to QB or at least contain him - he is slippery. I think the D is going to need to force a turnover or two.
