Looks like they’re just replacing bleachers.

Here’s a list of construction projects on campus if anyone’s interested.

I would like to get that master plan released instead of random postings about improvements cause I’m also curious. This may have been planned a long time ago. Didn’t see a problem with the bleachers we had but I’ll take it upgrade are good… more needing of actual concessions and the building being painted.

I thought there were actual seats in the student section (the area shown)? The seats in the upper level are pretty old - maybe they are going also?

Concession area is a big need.

Upgraded seating in the Champions Aggie section. Also, our bench will be opposite end of Jumbotron - means the visitors shoot free throws into the band in the second half. I’m guessing someone besides me made this suggestion to the AD, but I’m taking credit. Does mean I have to switch my seats to stay behind the home team bench.

That's a sign that the band has gotten too quiet. Aggie bench used to be at the opposite end of the court from the band so that they could hear themselves during timeouts. (And so we could hassle the opposing team...)

so now the band will be closer to opposite team bench

My wife and I have been in the same section that you are in. I guess we'll need to move our seats when we renew our tickets otherwise we'll be sitting behind the visiting teams with their fans if I'm understanding this correctly.

I plan to call today and make the switch to the other side of the ‘press box’. Downside is we don’t be able to hear the radio broadcasters as well.

Paid for mine today, $450 each not including the champion aggie fees which i already paid for football. Roughly twice as much as last year. They better be good cushioned seats, lol.

Last year there were 14 home games and our season tickets were $275 each. This year there are 16 home games and season tickets are $450. So, last year the price for was $17.86 per game and this year it is $28.13 per game. That's a 57.5% increase.

Ok, thanks for crunching the numbers. I was going off memory, lol.

I think that this big jump in ticket prices must be due to an effort by the Athletics Department to try and generate significantly more revenue. Aggie Athletics will need more money if we are going to continue to grow football and also be competitive in all the other sports that will be in the MWC net year.

you’re right - this is Mountain West prices. As for cushioned seats…..that’s only down in the Champions section if I read it correctly.

Agreed on that, but i hope the more aggressive prices don’t backfire on them by decreasing attendance. Maybe they did some metrics looking at what they can charge and what people will pay. For my wife and i, it’s still reasonable based on the entertainment received, and of course, supporting the Ags.

I was thinking the same thing. These prices will definitely be too much for some fans. Expensive tickets may not generate more revenue if they keep people away. I'd rather have cheaper prices and, hopefully, build a bigger fan base with the increased competition and excitement of the MWC teams coming to town. Then raise the ticket prices once the fan base has grown significantly.

Geez, Mike, what kind of prices are the Champion Club "padded seats" going for?
