I think on the squib kick, the tee went flying about 10 yards, so it wasn’t where he’s trained to look - after that, it got worse!

On a side note, I’m a moderator for a Aggie fan page on Facebook (UC Davis Aggie football - Aggie Pride). Since Saturday, we’ve had 32 requests for new users (all legit) and several people posting comments for the first time! So, good to see some new excitement!

I’m not sure if it was the cold or the fog that had poor Cori the Rocket Dog confused on the last couple kickoffs. I’m guessing the weather affected his sense of smell. On the last kickoff, he was all over the place - was at the opposite 30 yard line as URI was getting ready to run their play. I was hoping he’d pee on the referee but no such luck

NCAA turned down the school’s appeal; I believe the next step is to get lawyers involved.

With all the BS the NCAA does, this seems like a poor decision by them. Don’t count JC years, but count a game that doesn’t exist? Guys are out there for 6 seasons, 4 or 5 schools, but that fits the student-athlete model!

the beautiful thing is that the conference championship games finished around halftime of our game. So anyone switching over would have really been impressed!

when we checked into the Hyatt yesterday (cheapest rate I’ve ever seen) the receptionist was STOKED about the game. She’s a senior and couldn’t wait to freeze and cheer on the team.

Saw her this morning and she was still floating on air. Said they stood the whole game, never stopped cheering and NOBODY left.

I told her I don’t expect many students this week ….’give out good merch and some might stick around’. Hopefully she’s not out there cheering by herself

I thought someone here (jdur?) was posting about the advertising that was being done in campus, which is out of the norm. Or did I hear that on the zoom and/or lunch?

schools are free to distribute as they see fit. Expectations are something like $15M to football, $2M to both basketballs and $1M to other sports. Remains to be seen, of course.

I thought we are especially wired tight last night ( I turned it on about 8 minutes in). Don’t know if it was frustration from our defensive lapses or with so of the calls, but he was pacing like a tiger at the zoo. I hadn’t seen that in a long time.

I’ve felt that he has really toned that down the past 3-4 years.

they are giving away tickets to local youth teams and their families.

NDSU has a $2M revenue share for football. They, the school, are playing each player roughly $20k. We aren’t doing revenue sharing at all. That’s not NIL money, that’s from the school itself. The top 5-6 FCS schools have a lot more money coming in - hence, more going out. That’s our level. P4 schools will use their TV money to pay out something like $15M for their roster. Again, that’s before the NIL money hits.

Montana drew about 25k to 8 home games; we averaged 10k for 5. Add in their sky boxes, and generous donors and it’s not close. They have over 500 folks donating at least $1000; we recent broke the 100 level. Night and day.

the ticket office are working the phones. Folks who bought tickets last year are getting called. I got called yesterday about my Jr Aggie passes (not valid due to NCAA) to see if we need more tickets for them.

The late start should help with students and younger fans, but hurt with older fans (including, as you noted, long time donors).

what we are missing is a revenue stream to compete in this new world order of college football.

that’s a good point. I was thinking of the old days when they taught. I don’t think a pension is a priority in coaches’ decisions
  • SAC ST Coach OUT
CSUC pensions are basically the same as UC - driven by years of service. Probably needs 2 more years just to vest. 10 years would get get a (max) 25% pension if he takes it at max age (is that still 60?)

that’s the link to donate student tickets. There is another link for students to claim them

I don’t think recent hires were Orr’s decision.

I swear we haven’t had a decent shot in the past 5 minutes. Down 22-17 at the 8.

Les seems more agitated than I can remember on the sideline

I feel for the AD, Mark Orr. Seems like a good guy and competent AD. But he’s been put in an awful position by an egotist president who doesn’t seem to have realistic expectations.
