All the problems the Davis program has, are problems of a successful program. Most FCS programs would kill to be in our position as Quarterfinalists two years in a row with two different Quarterbacks.

We're thankfully not in Cal Polys shoes, or Sac State.

My gut tells me Pinnick comes back for one more year (minimum), and we reload where needed. We have a number of key defensive players who were grad transfers that we have to replace.

I tend to agree with you about Pinnack, but i know these kids (they are still kids in my mind) are getting pulled in all sorts of directions. I think Mendoza getting the Heisman after his tutulage from Plough would, hopefully, help him see that a year or more here would really help his development.

Wow, you see the Montana/Montana St tickets sold out and are reselling for $3K? Pretty incredible.

listing for 3k and selling for 3k are different things

it didn't help that season ticket holders were able to buy up to 8 tickets so it never reached the general public. A regular sale was canceled.

So who are you rooting for in today’s games and the finals? I’d like to see the rebirds make it to the finals against the cats. I see the cats winning the big prize which is good for the big sky. I can’t root for a Hauck coached team.

I’d like to see Illinois State so we can say we lost to a team in the finals. However either one would be a great underdog story. I’m probably rooting for Montana State since I think Griz fans are a little more insufferable.

just heard a holding call on Josh Gale - kind of forgot he was playing for Montana.

Montana State dominating the line of scrimmage. Montana not used to playing in so hostile of an environment with the crowd noise - usually the other way around.

The weak spot for Montana State. Is their lack of downstream passing game and lack of multiple receiving threats. So if they get behind the chains it throws them a bit off.

MSU pulling away now 41-23 with 7:57 to go. Big plays for the Cats...

I think the announcer hit it on the head when he said the cats wear you down in the trenches then open the game up in the 4th when the D is tired.

I don’t see the redbirds or villanova hanging with the cats.

Pretty crazy swings in this game.

    20-3 Mont St
    20 straight points for Montana
    28 straight for Mont St

I was ready to rag on the Montana St coach for not using his timeouts when Montana had 1st and goal with like 1:40 left. Could have ensured they got the ball back in the 1st half while also getting the ball to start the 2nd half. Didn’t end up mattering though.

I would say the same but nobody thought Illinois St would hang with NDSt either.

I’m torn. On one hand, if Illinois St wins, then yes we can say we lost to a finalist. But if they win, especially if they win easily, I’m going to be annoyed because I’ll feel like we could have beaten Nova also.

We were so close this year even with all the injuries...without them, we could very well have made it to the championship game. Can't wait for next year...

I'm cheering for the Redbirds. You don't potentially get this far by luck especially if all games are in the road. I think the Bobcats beat them in the final.

We would have spanked Villanova. That redbird #5 is a total beast, but i think the cats have the muscle to slow him down.

    Ilinois St defense by game:

    SELA: 321 yds, 3 points
NDST: 179 yds, 28 points (thought got a punt return TD, Int return TD and an Int return to the 4 that led to a TD)
UC Davis: 533 yds, 31 points
    Nova: 300 yds, 14 points

So ISU allowed 1333 yds so far in the playoffs and we accounted for 40 percent of them. They allowed 76 points in the playoffs and we accounted for 40.8 percent of them. If you take out the two return TDs for NDSt, we scored half the points the ISU defense has allowed.
