40 minutes down, 80 minutes to go!

With another gritty win under their belt, Davis moves on to the Big West Tournament Semifinals for the 6th time in the last 7 seasons. Facing UC San Diego, the Aggies will look to beat the Tritons for the 3rd time this season. At San Diego in late January, Davis rallied from a 12-point second quarter deficit to win by 4. Round 2 in Davis a month ago started with the Aggies down by 13 points in the 3rd quarter before pulling out an otherworldly, 8-point win in triple overtime. Can UCD make it a trifecta?

The Tritons, second place in the regular season, as well as last year’s tournament champions are lead by a quartet of double-digit scorers: Erin Condron (15.8), Makayla Rose (12.5), Sabrina Ma (11.5) and Rosa Smith (11.4). Condron grabs 8 boards a game, to also lead in that category, supported by Rose and Ma, who each pull down 5 rpg., respectively.

UCD counters with its own quartet of players averaging double figures: Ryann Bennett (15.3), Nya Epps (12.8), Megan Norris (12.3) and Avery Sussex (11.7). Norris also leads the Aggies in rebounding at 12.7 rpg, with Epps, Sussex and Tegan Young, each adding 4 boards a game.

The game could be a war of attrition, as all five of San Diego’s starters are averaging 30+ minutes a game, while the Aggies have four starters doing the same. Will the Aggies playing back-to-back games help turn the trick for the Tritons? Or will someone unexpected step up for one of the teams?
