looking back....we were 'this close' to blowing that game out.DrMike

    THIS ^^^
Farley post-game was a little off....made it seem like they gave us the game with turnovers.

Thomas SHOULD have scored at the end of the half on that shuffle pass. that was a really creative call with the motion and he would have waltzed into the endzone but we missed a block. again 'this close' to blowing it wide open.

Coaches always focus on their teams failures in postgame interviews and the other teams strength pregame, coaches are smart guys they know the press conference playbook

Is that for the season or last game?

I like how Modise, Thomas, and Gilliam all get carries. There styles are so different that it seems to keep the D on their toes, or heels :).

Season. I love that we have 3 talented backs.

Agreed. I think flexibility is the difference although TT is developing well as a receiving option. His run for a critical first down in the last drive was awesome, and illustrated his strength I think. In my mind, those first downs despite the failed FG that would have sealed it, were a big factor in the victory since it changed field position substantially.

We left at least 10 points out on the field on Saturday vs. UNI. They would say they left points on the field too...but a dropped pass inside the 5 (turnaround for a huge INT return that set up a UNI field goal) and a missed UCD field goal. That's a 13 point swing for UNI.

Edit: we actually got the pick back after that huge play from the Preece drop. 10 pt. swing

Doss dropped a TD on the first drive - 14 points now

Well, let's just say, for a first time playoff game, we made just enough plays to beat UNI...to beat EWU we need to be turnover free and we need to make every big play.

Yes - have to put up 6 every time in the red zone.

Wait...with that turf...I guess that means every drive.

i was telling a buddy, we should fair catch EVERY kick. use the new kickoff rule to our advantage and take over at the 25. same as punts. in the cold, i worry about turnovers in the kicking game. hard to hold on to the ball in damp, 30-degree weather after a full-speed collision.

This is a good read written by a UC Davis student:
    https://www.davisenterprise.com/sports/owen-yancher-i-felt-the-aggie-pride/

“I watched as the stadium erupted in the fourth quarter when UCD head coach Dan Hawkins noticed himself up on the jumbotron and pointed to the old school Cal Aggies logo on his hat.

I felt the energy, the overwhelming emotion. I felt Aggie Pride. And I think most of the 8,000-plus that made it out to the game Saturday night did as well.”
