I hope it doesn’t rain. Seems we’ve opted for speed in skill positions over size so that could be an issue

FWIW, Idaho State has 10 WRs at 6'1" or over, including Robbie Mascheroni (listed as a Sophomore).

WR's with great size and great speed are not easy to come by at the FCS level. Most of those elite players are taken quickly by FBS programs while smaller WR's with great speed are often overlooked by those programs.

I would rather have smaller WR's with great speed and quickness than bigger WR's who are not as fast. Sure, the taller WR's are a bigger target but, if they don't possess good speed and quickness, they're aren't as likely to be able to create as much separation as a smaller, faster receiver. Smaller receivers with great speed, quickness and good hands can create separation and get open which makes them just as good a target if not better. So I'm happy with smaller receivers who are speed burners...speed kills!

From another one living in the mid-south to south, yes definitely the humidity is the killer. Yesterday the dewpoint was up to 79. Free wet sauna.

My wife and I will be going to the game (we’re in the Raleigh area), and will fly to Atlanta). PM me if you’d like and maybe we can meet up at the game.

The weather forecast for the kickoff at 7 pm is 82 degrees with 76% humidity and a "feels like" temperature of 85 with a 15% chance of a thunderstorm.
Translates to a dewpoint of 72 degrees. Sultry but it could be worse in Alabama this time of year. Living in the south it’s all about dewpoint that doesn’t change with the temperature but lets you know how much water vapor is on the air.

We’re going to go with the cheap $23 tickets in the stands versus the climate controlled ESPN zone at $104 that does include food and access to stands. Rain is of more concern I think.

from what Plough was saying, Pinnack’s numbers in camp made it the obvious (but still tough) choice. Especially the percentage of explosives plays. They track and analyze every competitive scrimmage play.

They had the first weekly press conference today according to the media center. Don’t they usually post those?

It'll be interesting to see how Pinnick does on Saturday against a tough defense for his first college start, but it's encouraging that Plough mentioned he went like 14/16 in the last scrimmage and has wheels on top of it. We haven't had a truly mobile QB in what feels like forever. Rodrigues had some mobility I suppose, but really didn't have a ton of playtime.

At least this should be an easier start than Randy Wright had at Cal. At the lunch Plough basically said what Dr. Mike wrote above. And listening to him, one thing I’m confident on, we won’t get out coached. Who’s going to control the clock Saturday?

Who is PJ? He is injured, broken collarbone. Main and Carillo not recovered from surgery.

I checked the Media Center to see if they have put up Game Notes, but they aren’t posted.
They misspelled the word denotes as donates

Rodrigues was a little on the thin side to be running, 6’0 170lbs.

Don't know who PJ is......Didn't someone on here say David Rasor is out for the season?
We have an AJ, JJ, TY (x2)....

he mentioned a couple guys that were injured at the scrimmage and were out but i didn't get names (probably were nicknames that I'm not familiar with).

I'll have to skip the viewing party on Saturday -> youth soccer kicks off saturday and the last (or 4) grandkid games starts at 4:00. I'll listen and then catch more of the game on TV while a bunch of them probably end up in our pool.

i listened to the posted press conference video twice, Plough said “PJ” was injured, one time he said a broken collarbone. He also mentioned Carrillo and Main haven’t recovered completely and won’t play until later in season.
The mystery is who he meant by PJ.
Main being out ends the all five starters on the o-line are back analysis.
David Porotesano is featured in this promotional image is a likely starter.

Rodrigues was really fast, but yah, don’t really want you QB running all the time and being subjected to punishment.

The threat alone. The 5 yard or 7 yard out of bounds rush, untouched, is perfect and often moves the chains.

Sometimes a QB having the ability to extend one or two drives with his feet is all it takes to win a game. With that said, Tom Brady won quite a few games as a statue......

Scott Marsh seems to have a history of huge predictions. Without taking one snap, he believes our redshirt freshman QB will go down as one of our best QBs in program history. We'll see.

Mercer spring game, short. They don't look like NDSU.

Looks like they're running a nice pass/run option look - should be a tough test for Davis on both sides of the ball - and essentially a home game on the road, so there's all that noise...just the same, let's keep our prime time ESPN win streak going. Shooting for two straight.

Somebody at our alumni zoom asked about Carrillo -> sounds like they think he could be back late, be able to play 4 games (like the TE last year) and then request a medical redshirt. They are concerned that could be turned down, thus burning the year. Sounds like something the compliance folk have to work out late in the year.

    Sure it is, let's go.
