I was impressed with Cleeland, the true freshmen out of Vancouver, WA / HS in Portland. Pinnick is dynamic. Harper could see action depending on how season starts for Pinnick IMO. Lastly, Axel Eason is physically the biggest, and has a strong arm.

Cleeland's a stud - Dad was a Top 40 NFL Draft Pick TE who played for the Huskies in Seattle. Played 8 seasons in the League.

You don't grow up in the Jesuit HS district in Beaverton, OR - you have to be invited to come play football, they will recruit you.

Hearing Grant's recruitment story based on a basketball tape is so Bob Biggs.

Yes! I imagine recruiting in Biggs' time was very different. Way less information on athletes, way less resources. Definitely had to get creative. Finding guys at the D2 (and transitional/early FCS) level must have presented its own set of challenges.

The USC buyout of their game with Davis was in 2021. Played Tulsa instead. Ended up with an FBS win and a lot of money..
