30 donors to my program for a reception and they (campus) allocated 3 bottles of wine. I told my group only have 3 bottles of wine in view at any time. I don’t remember where all the empties went, lol.

How luxurious will these suites be? The suite I was in the AT&T park in SF was nice, but not luxurious. It had a living room decor, a refrigerator, a counter, but the coolest feature was that the front of the suite had a box of stadium seating, so you could watch the game from there and feel the atmosphere. But it wouldn’t be that attractive without the event. I imagine the truly luxurious suites are mostly customized by lease owners.

I was in one of the suites at Montana last year and it was nothing special. Nice seats, fridge and bar counter. It was a bit small - very like the 6 or 8 of us standing in their pregame were a bit on top of each other. But. It was 30 degrees warmer in their compared to outside!

I was invited to my company suite at an NBA game a few years ago. It was a bigger suite, probably held 15. It had big comfy box seats in front and behind the glass door had a couch area and then a couple high tops in the back and a serving counter. For my event, the company had a taco bar and beer buckets but I think they had catering options. The furniture and decor was standard hotel lobby fare. It was nice having private restrooms and an express entrance. I think only 2 of us watched the game. The rest had no interest in the game and were just there to be seen and schmooze the vice president. So motives can vary.

Probably not too luxurious....bar table, fridge, stadium seating? Sounds fun. Could probably be done without going over the top.....

Great to auction off those suites for charitable purposes too

Montana lets suite tenants stock the suite a few days before the game, according to their web site. That implies to me that drinks and food can be sourced outside. I think that is an important and desirable feature.

My Dad and I were getting into going to Bozeman mid-November for game - he said cheap tickets were $219! I think they're actually like $60 - $70. Still, compared to $13 for GA, must pay to be a winner

On the secondary market they are expensive. I think I paid 250 per ticket or something like that in 2022 (through vivid seats (bad experience with them) for the game in Bozeman because all seats were pretty much sold out months in advance.

    From ignite 2.0
PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY TRAINING AND COMPETITION VENUES THAT SUPPORT CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAMS
Develop a department facility master plan with input from coaches and staff while benchmarking against peer institutions.
Prioritize facility renovations and new construction with leadership donor support.

That master plan expected in November as previously mentioned. “Benchmarking against peer institutions” means some serious work is going to have to go on… especially in the basketball arena and football renovations (when/if we make that move)

    Hopefully not benchmarking against Sac

I know this thread is for renovations but even looking at what we have, we really are lucky. I can only watch games on TV. So much of the conference has glorified high school stadiums. We have a bowl. Those grass areas add character. Looks great on TV…

I totally agree. It has aged really well since being built too. I think keeping the grass berms and expanding on the sides/boxes is def the best first move.

Officially on renovation/facility plan release watch. Should be released this month.

Agreed. Losing the grass berms makes it more generic, and the grass is kid (family) friendly.

exactly! I feel like expanding the seating on the student section side up and boxes on the press box side is the way to go.

I hope we don't get into a lopsided stadium situation. I really like that we have a bowl, and I hope we keep that shape.

agreed. I think if you build up on one side you have to at least build a bit up on the other to keep the symmetry somewhat. Again, not keeping to exactly what that random rendering rocko sent was a few months ago, but still sticking with the premise of adding at least some seats on the visitor side when building suite boxes (or at least having a plan for it).

Lose the tent on the north berm. Is it really necessary?
  • DrMike

I believe the plan is the addition of suites will allow them to get rid of that eyesore!

It's a temporary thing...put there to have something there extra, but we all know when the permanent plan is built in, it's going to be gone.

I can see them adding a larger 2nd deck with ~7,500 seats to visitor side, small second level ( high end luxury 1,500-2k seats)+ 2 rows of luxury boxes/suites/maybe a restaurant/etc to home side, and then later/last fill in north end zone berm (~2.5k seats), and leave the south end zone as grass (perhaps add an elevated patio zone/seating behind it). This will have it be somewhat symmetrical in size and around 25k and would be one of the nicer G6 stadiums in FBS.
My wish would be to at least add some sort of shade structure/roof to the sides but that is likely out of the budget.
  • BaseballAtDobbins

Any chance they do some sort of party deck like Colts Field?

this is almost word for word my idea of what it could look like in my mind (at least eventually)
