Do you know with SACST struggles and Cal letting Wilcox go, if we are reaching out to their committed players who might want to flip? There are some good prospects we should target. I also would hope we are putting a fence around the Sacramento area.

Looks like Niles Davis flipped his commitment from UC Davis to Cal. Interesting decision given that they don't have a coach currently.

New last minute offer here on JUCO DB Joseph Faulkner V! GO AGS!

Cal recruits are getting rev share so anyone flipping to Davis would be going from paid status to free status.

Looking at the states top recruits and its wild to me that most California kids are leaving the state to play football.

Does every player get the same amount?

    This is what AI says:

"In 2025-26, a model suggests P4 schools will allocate about $15.4 million of their $20.5 million cap to football players, with individual averages around $146,000, while other sports will also receive a share. This revenue is distributed among all eligible players, but specific allocations and amounts can vary based on the individual school's plan, with some plans prioritizing positions like quarterbacks."

Cal is in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) which is a P4 conference.

Not much we could do. The kid blew up and was getting offers from Cal, UCLA, and others. It happens sometimes.

You're not wrong in that this will happen, though I still stand by my belief that they need to change the designated word from "commitment" with how loose and fast it's used in regards to recruiting. The word has become entirely meaningless.

if we want a dating analogy—it’s like telling your main girl, who might be average looking but sweet and a good cook, that it’s exclusive while Uncle Wingman from down the block is still running your Tinder profile trying to find you some SEC motorboat side action, and then falling for it when the stripper says she loves you.

You have to be realistic of who we are. Yes, we are an outstanding university. Yes, we provide an amazing opportunity to play football. But guess what? Cal and Stanford are athletically and academically better than us right now. They have a history. If my kid wanted to play for Davis, but then got a call from Stanford, Cal, UCLA, or USC he would have to consider it. That is just recruiting. Happens to everyone.

Bro, I understand... I track the recruiting and have for many years on this site. I don't really need it explained to me...

Sorry, didn't mean for that to come off the way it did. I'm sure you know a ton of recruiting. I'm just pointing out that this isn't the first or last commit that will be flip. It happens.

it's all good, I know where you're coming from. You are right, flips happen but it's weird to lock in early in the recruiting cycle if you are really holding out for a FBS offer.
