Another Thursday road loss snd Saturday victory. I know the game feature different opponents (like a Thursday in Hawaii) but this trend seems telling. Seems like a competitive disadvantage for us to have 5 games like that while others have to only deal with a single trip yo NorCal. Gonna be worse next year unless we take longer road trips (leave day before).
If you take out the Thursday night loss at Hawaii, we are 1-3 on Thursday in SoCal, 2-1 on Saturday. Hopefully, next week we can break the Thursday night skid when we take on the Beach who should be out of the playoff picture.
No surprises here, but it's nowhere good for the Aggies, who are in danger of falling all the way to the 8 seed if Cal Poly keeps winning. A 4 seed is still possible especially if the Ags can tie with UCSB over whom they have the tiebreaker. Unfortunately, a more likely outcome is a 5 seed as all of the teams ahead of us play each other and both UCSD and Fullerton have a chance to get to 12 wins while UCD will have to beat Irvine down in SoCal.
The Big West is always very competitive and this year it is especially so. Yes, were are currently in 7th place but look at that log jam in the middle of the standings. A lot can still happen in this free-for-all.
We were within 2 points of 1st place Hawai'i last night with 24 seconds left in the game so we have shown that we can play with any team in the conference. Great effort by the Ags playing without Jalen Stokes and Nils Cooper. Omer Suljanovic, a true freshman that is improving with every game. went out with an injury last night also. We've got a week to, hopefully, heal up before our final 2 road games.
I apologize for all the typos in my post last night. I could blame it on my dyslexic dementia, but the truth is, it was distress from the way the Hawai`i game ended. I've corrected it (I think).
