i was thinking a running back position. He has exceptional speed can throw if play called for it, and a bubble screen if he can catch. His size is only going to get better aftervstrength coachngets done. My guess is at least 200 pounds.
I will tell you this i played intramural football against Ronnie Austin, a fellow Vallejo Highbalum, and speed like that is scary fast. I thought ibwas fairky fast back then, but he took it to a level i never played against. That tyoe of speed is very impressive.

Good point on the stats. I threw him into the mix based on the HT/WT measurables, traditionally strong HS program, and yes, pedigree. Who else is there in the QB room aside from Guess (who will likely get moved) and Wrighster? Probably ends up with Cleeland as the #2 with Eason/Wrighster battling for #3?

    Quarterbacks

    Caden Pinnick - Redshirt Frosh
    Treynor Cleeland - Frosh
    Damon Wrighster - Soph
    Xzavior Guess - Frosh
    Axel Eason - Frosh
    Jack Brant - new commit

Does anyone know what senior QB Grant Harper's plans are?

To be honest, I don't think he sticks around Davis after this year. No inside info, but I can see him transferring to a bigger program in a couple weeks. I think the QB helm goes to Eason next year.

I highly doubt either one of those eventualities occur. Pinnick is an unusually mature guy ( not big on social media as I understand for one) and I think he knows he has more development to do before jumping ship and I suspect he has a bit more buy in with loyalty. Sure there will be folks in his ear, but moving on in a couple weeks - highly unlikely.

We will see. I hope you are right to be honest. This team has a legit chance to be a program changer. If they can stay together they can build something big. That being said, with the changes in CFB, it would be very surprising if we kept Pinnick, Cofield, etc. Money is mone and at the end of the day, its a business decision. I don't know about you, but if someone offered me $1M to play college football I'd have to at least take a look around.

But you're assuming that is no risk, which it isn't. 4* and 5* comp, new terminology, thousands of miles away, etc. I love CP, but he racked up some accolades against the weaker teams on our schedule. Same for Vargas. I can see CP staying at least for another year bc we have deep QB knowledge in Coach Plough and crew.

Wild guess, but I think if the Connors come back, maybe Vargas returns for one more year and we go for a national championship. This year will have the silver lining of subs getting lots of PT. We do have a few super Grads to replace. Eason sounds more like a project.

Some people value culture more than money. Time will tell but I am enjoying the ride. I still remember the Jake Meier/Keelon Doss days.

Interesting group potentially returning next season. We will have an entire spring and off season to dive into that, but a national title run is realistic. Montana comes here, Montana State isn't on the schedule. Very favorable schedule as a matter of fact.

One would think that the NCAA will grant the Connors' another season. My feeling is that coming off of the injuries, the market may not be what it might have been last year, and the likelihood of a return becomes greater. Vargas, who knows.

Psyk will be the hardest grad transfer to replace. Garretson helps, as does Few.

Possibly the biggest shoes to fill (figuratively and literally) will be Eli Simonson at Left Tackle. Pro body, three year starter, that hit is massive. Maybe an area of the portal I would sniff around in.

If the NCAA has determined that the Mercer game was “no game” as it has already stated then it should be a “no game” for the purpose of eligibility as well. To decide otherwise would an egregious error and very possibly grounds for a legal challenge. I doubt that the NCAA has any appetite for any more litigation given it’s very poor record in court to date. My bet is for the twins to be determined eligible for 2026.

Some very big NIL money is going to be thrown at Pinnick...not sure we'll see him in an Aggie uniform again next year unless some deep pocketed Aggie donors step up in a big way.

Wasn't he committed to BYU? The Cougars are shelling out that kind of dough for Ryder Lyons -- and mind you he won't start competing for a starting job until 2028 after mission.

I don't think he sticks around either. He is getting big money offers already. Enjoy him while we have him! I predict Eason takes over next year. Just my opinion.

Not saying it out loud, but feel like the return is dependent on how the Aggies finish this post-season.

My bet is on Pinnick returning for 2026. This is his first year as a starter! He's tight with Plough and Shelton, he's tight with the families, and it just feels like he needs another year to get things dialed in and make the real money. I don't know the kid or his situation, but from what I observe, it just feels like he is comfortable here and humble enough to understand that he needs to continue to develop. Beyond that, no certainty but it is another year to raise the money needed to keep him beyond that. This is only a blind prediction...

In response to Sailorgabe's prediction, I think Cleeland has the upper hand heading into the off season for the back up job OR to be the guy IF CP were to take the money. Eason has measurables but not a lot of experience, and if he's better than Cleeland, he'll prove it this off season or down the road sometime. Let 'em battle it out in the spring. I see Guess moving to receiver/returner to learn under Gbatu this spring and fall.

It’s 100% a killjoy to repeatedly mention that you think the QB is gone during a playoff run. You have your thoughts. We’re well aware of them. Just let the season play out.
