Man, I do not have a great feeling right now. Sorry to be a buzzkill. It was a beautiful night, tremendous support, and we won. However, I left with too many questions (like "what is my password?" that's why I'm now Pacifico2). My biggest concerns at this juncture, in no particular order: rushing defense, QB inaccuracy downfield, rushing defense, coverage miscues, and rushing defense. They basically ran one play down our throat all night...
Fitz' interview was honest. "When you play bad in two out of three phases, you're not going to win the game, Spencer."
Great video guys! Love hearing from the fans straight up - best talk on game day is in the tailgate.
Maggie this year like every year is quite the stunner.
Well done fellas. Despite being out here in Colorado, this helps me feel connected. Hope to see some Aggie fans travel for the NCU matchup. If yall like Kettlemen City, you’ll enjoy Greeley!
Well, I couldn't individually count them - but by late 1st quarter, that was the fullest I've ever seen UC Davis Health Stadium...it's too bad the crowd wasn't a bit more lively. Best crowd ever at the Big A was 2018, vs. Idaho State, crazy overtime thriller - everybody was jacked and into the game, so much fun. Obviously, the old fans at Toomey were much louder and rowdier...and at times, not being cool, but they were very loud that's for sure.
He claims there was no way 17k people were at that game.. — davisguy52
Their coach said that Davis "lied...told a fib" about the attendance. He went on to say that schools inflate their attendance so that it will help with recruiting because kids want to play in front of big crowds and the big attendance numbers also help with getting corporate sponsors. He thought we had around 9000 and the host of the show thought it was 11,000...not sure why their estimates are more "factual" than ours...
It was really interesting to hear their right guard and the coach talk about the battle in the trenches and how it is much, much more about various techniques and "hand violence" than pure power straight ahead. That conversation starts around the 20 minute mark of the video.
Early in the first quarter Fitzgerald might be close on the 9,000 estimate. But into the second quarter, i believe the 17,000 figure. I always assumed when your ticket is scanned as you enter, it counts the body. I’ll ask Josh on Saturday. And btw, no way we would cheat on the numbers. That could have some major ncaa ramifications.
A comparable crowd in terms of filling a stadium was the crowd we had at the Toomb when we played Reno, and beat them. It was standing room only and the west side, the student side, was loud and rowdy. That was one of the most exciting games i can remember.
Coach comes off as a bit of a dick in this video im sorry. Dude is like "people in nor-cal are smart and no way 16k were there" after saying facilities were dodgy in spots (waiting in line for a bathroom without urinals?) . I know its his sense of humor but he just comes off as salty. He also said he thinks it was 8k people there... which is just not true.
