Speaking of Treynor, his bio needs to be updated because it says "Brother, Roice, plays football at Washington".
Anyone know for certain whether Jackson Kollock will be here in the Spring?

    What exercise is a 'hang'?

It's an olympic lift where you essentially deadlift the bar, flip it up into your hands and catch it in a front squat position. Kind of hard to describe. If you look up a video of "hang clean" vs. "power clean" it's easier to see. QBs don't usually hang clean that kind of weight...

How much do these lifts help over standard lifts considering the possible added risks?

Done with proper form and technique the risks are quite low. Lifts like cleans are a good indicator of explosive-ness, but that alone won't make you a good player. Still an impressive feat, though

Is it a good idea for a QB to be that strong? Maybe more work in flexibility and endurance?

Anyone know how he looks? I remember Jimmy Laughrea came from Boise with a lot of fanfare but never panned out. Randy Wright lost his spot to Laughrea for one game I think, but then went back in. Laughrea had a strong arm which likely got him a big D1 offer, but apparently didn't have the rest of the skills needed.

In a "normal" (whatever that means) QB world, Cleeland enters spring taking the #1 reps, with Eason and Kollock splitting the remaining reps until one of them emerges. You'll be able to tell what the coaches think of 2 and 3 by how they're managed after a few practices. Cleeland and Eason will have an edge early because they know how to manage Plough's huddle and all the formations and shifts/motions, etc. If Kollock is a dude, he'll pick that up quickly and then they'll be better able to assess him vs. Eason first, then Cleeland. If he's not a dude, he'll be bottle-fed for a while, and if Eason is emerging, he'll get some of Cleeland's run to simulate competition. If Cleeland is clearly the dude, the battle will be for QB2.

Any QB hierarchy before entering camp is pretty tenuous considering all the QBs are 2025 freshmen with essentially no playing time. None of the QBs were even #2 last season. Competition will allow someone to separate themselves.

Plough forgot to mention him when he was discussing the QB depth when they signed Kollock. I know that could just be an oversight, but we are reliant on reading tea leaves or goat entrails.

Correct, QB depth is strictly hypothetical at this point. I was going off the fact that Cleeland was #3 at the end of the season and was even inserted for a gadget play or two. In my amateur opinion, one does not throw a kid out there as a redshirt on national TV for a gadget play against the eventual national champion if he's not the lead dog. It is, and should be, an open competition. Someone has to take the very first rep in team periods. My money is on Cleeland taking that snap, Competition and coaches sort it out from there. in Plough we trust!

Use the reps you get to their maximum - Tom Brady gave a great talk about his time at Michigan and how he was frustrated being relegated to 2nd or 3rd team as a sophomore, and he was given some great advice that if he was only allotted 3 or 4 plays a practice, that those plays should be perfect in every way, correct read, correct timing and an accurate throw. Everything grew from those first couple of reps thereafter.

With his speed, that's expected. Should be a good QB competition.
