350 donations unlocks a $250k gift. So, give often!

I guess if one wants to game the system, then create 350 email accounts and donate one penny per account. $3.50 will unlock the $250k gift.

I’m not entirely sure where I got the $250k - I swear I saw that when I was looking. But there’s something like $60k listed in gifts that get unlocked at 300-350 donors.

We don’t know.

At the last lunch Josh said it would be promoted heavily on social media and emails as the main donation days got closer.

Our fans tend to be last minute people from what I hear, whether it’s game tickets, wine event or this. They react to a deadline so they will wait until closer to picnic weekend.

I also notice Davis does a bad job at advertising and promoting…

I think this would be best answered by the vets of this message board. I just joined this year. I haven’t paid attention to any football fundraising until this year.

293 gifts to complete $60,000 challenges (two $25k challenges that need 350 total gifts and $10k challenge that needs 100 total gifts.)

hard to compare since they’ve only gone to this extended give ‘day’ the past couple years. This is the most ‘gifts’ that I can remember. Last year was the first that they offered lower level gifts that opened with 30-50 donors. Seems like we’re ahead of the past and the number of higher end gifts at 300-350 is much higher.

It should ramp up the end of next week. Plenty of time for everyone to add another email address!

To offer some context, as of now there’s been a total of 510 donations for the entire give day, 109 in athletics. . We have 59 for football.

For reference, last year $84,496 was donated by 248 donors.

I still don’t see give day advertised on UC Davis Athletics/ Football X(Twitter) or Instagram pages. I do see the Golf tournament that is on 4/28 (and when you look at the tickets page everything is crossed out). I don’t understand how Davis expects to compete in the NIL era if they don’t even push to get donations. 60k is on the table. It is FREE to post on IG and Twitter. Less than one week left until the end of the campaign. A lot needs to be addressed program wise before they can compete D1 Mountain West. More than just upgrading the stadium.

if you look at most every UCD FB page (including the main page) you won’t find much if anything about this pre Give Day period. Everyone makes the big push on the weekend both online and in person. If you go to the spring game, expect a big QRC on the scoreboard to give. Alum, parents, etc will get hit with emails and posts - that’s when folks respond.

This was in my email today from football. There’s a hype video from athletics on FB. As I was saying, they tend to push harder as actual Give ‘Day’ approaches.

If Plough hyped it at spring game with scoreboard QRC, we’ll get a big push there.
