But they willing to play in Sacramento. I am sure it is tough for Sac State to get FBS teams willing to come to Sacramento for a non conference game. First in is not a great stadium. Second I am sure they can’t pay that much.

Yes they need some OOC home games and they don’t have many options. Wood’s spin on how they were going to pay for the FBS move was buy games; the math never works anyways but an SJSU series is just another chunk of their schedule that is not going to help contribute to their outsized FBS costs.

Mercer @ Georgia Tech today, that's a good trip for a local FCS team

2027 OOC schedule is nice. I'd say we get back in the mix in the next few years.
I have no inside info on this......but I could see UCLA in '27 and/or '29 disappearing (they ditch, like USC) and Sac making an appearance at least once.

Somewhat pathetic performance so far by Pinnick and co against a weak FCS Duquesne

Edit: they scored as I posted this, jinxed it

Flipped over to ESPN after the LSU-Ole Miss game ended and got a chuckle out of the score.

Honestly, they should just ban FCS-FBS games. I mean, sure, some of them are competitive, but too often you get results similar to Oregon-Portland State. Miami beat a HBCU by 70 last week. Just play a crappy FBS team if you want a warmup game. I mean, Sac St probably has a fairly open schedule.

But what does beating Portland St by 84 do for Oregon? Can't possibly help them much. Besides money, it doesn't help Portland St at all either.

Game was 31-3 with 8 mins left in the 4th. Wasn’t that close.

    Attendance:

    Sac 13,000
    Davis 15,000

Bee story says fans at Sac started leaving in the third quarter.

Next week will be a test for Sac....Home vs Massachusetts. Many pre-season pollsters had Massachusetts ranked as the worst team in FBS. They pulled a major upset at BigTEN Rutgers, followed by two wins over low ranked FCS schools. The clock might work in Sac's favor. A 7:00 PM kick-off is 10:00 PM for the Minutemen. Look for this to be the ESPN Pillowcase FIght of the Week.

that not a good number for Sac. Do they only show if there is a concert after?

those usually draw the students. I would guess that the Bison fans were more abundant than any other fan base that Sac will host this year.
