This will be first conference rematch, the Aggies having defeated the Matadors 89-80 on New Year’s day. Conner Sevilla went 5 for 10 from long range and scored 23 points. Like UC Davis, CSUN has had an up and down season, but unlike the Ags they usually beat the teams they should beat and lose to the better teams. The only exception being an upset vs. UCSD in La Jolla. As it stands now, they are right on our tail as far as the Big West standings go. The Matadors still try to win with offense averaging over 80 ppg but allowing about as many. In seven of their last nine games they have allowed over 80 ppg. including 90 to Cal Poly and 89 to Hawai`i on Jan. 24. It is worth mentioning, however, that in league play they are 3-1 at home. The Aggies need to win this one badly to offset their two losses in Davis and keep up with the pack.
