I know it's not a big deal, but can't he talk about Barriere without being ridiculous about it? Just say the guys is really good. He's definitely not the best player in all of college football and he's absolutely not the best player Hawkins has ever coached against. I mean, he said it himself that he's coached against five Heisman winners. He might not even be the best quarterback Hawkins has coached against at UCD (Trey Lance).

Just say he's really talented and a really hard player to prepare to play against and that he might be the best player in FCS (even if he's not, you could probably make an argument for it).

You're absolutely right. Is Barriere the best quarterback in the Big Sky, the best quarterback we've played this season, and a contender for the Walter Payton award? Yes absolutely. I'm not trying to down play his talent at this level because we've seen him dominate teams game after game, season after season but he is absolutely not the best player in all of college football.

Maybe Hawk is borrowing a page from Coach Sochor.

He's trying to get Bariere's head so big that he won't be able to get on the plane or off the bus. This is our best defensive strategy.

Five resignations counting the spring,,,that a lot of unhappy coaches who were originally hired by Best. EWU might be better served if Best resigned...

Looking forward to my first game at the new stadium. My son and I are parking at my old fraternity house, riding bikes through campus to take a little tour, then bike to the game. Excited to step foot on campus for the first time in almost 20 years tomorrow!

I wish the women's bball game started a little later. It would have been cool to catch the tail end of that before the football game. I'm curious if any buildings are open, if we could walk through the library.

You could take in the women's game and then have a couple of hours to poke around the campus before the football game.

We can't get there until 3 or so. Bball game will probably be over by then.

Have you seen the expanded Shields Library?

- Death Star? (Modern building near Toomey.)
- Expanded, modern **Coffee House**
- Expanded, remodeled Memorial Union.
- New / expanded dorms on Russell Blvd (old WebM, etc.)

New buildings all over.

Cool to 1) acknowledge him and 2) read that there will be a successor.

If EWU loses today, does that eliminate them from the playoffs or at least put them on the bubble? If so, they might have a lot more to play for. Hope that makes it more stressful for their coaching staff.

If they lose today (big emphasis on if) then I think they are still in good shape to make the playoffs. 2 of their losses would be against top 5 teams in Montana State and us and the 3rd would be against Weber. Now if they lose today and next week against Portland then their backs might be up against the ropes.

Bunch of alums I know are going to the EWU game. My old fellowship is having a big reunion before the game and a whole lot of them are sticking around to watch the game tonight. Wish I was there!
