You hit it on the head; being an NCAA event, hosted by UC Davis, all freebies have to be purchased first, then distributed. We should have asked each school within the University to purchase some seats for their faculty, whatever. Or given them any extras. I'd set up a tent in front of the library and on campus Saturday up until dark giving away tix. Whatever it takes. If we can hit a legit 8k it's a great sign and shows well on TV

Our average attendance this season is 12,991. This is a 14.6% increase from last season at 11,335. Last playoff game attracted 6,317 people. With a 14.6% increase, that would be 7,240 people. If we hit that number, then I'll be content.

I have to say, the lack of UC Davis support from the city of Davis is just unacceptable. I was just downtown getting a some lunch with my wife and the place is dead. You would have no idea a national televised game would be happening here in 24 hours....What is the deal? This is a perfect time to be promoting Davis and the community. Very disappointing.

My impression is that some of the business owners do care, but not the city at large

they are giving away tickets to local youth teams and their families.

He assumes they possibly sent email to students.

Akem’s Analysis, Hero Sports, and Sports Illustrated previews don’t think much of Davis' defense, because they all look at statistics for the whole season, which include the Washington game.
A better measure is how Davis did in conference, which happens to be games without the Connors brothers, where Davis was second in scoring defense, third in total yardage defense. If we look at pass defense Davis was second best in percentage of completions and yards per attempt. And only for the last three games have we had both of our top cornerbacks available.
