appreciate the welcome and am excited to keep contributing to boards, didn't know these forums existed and have just been commenting on r/cfb and r/fcs to talk about aggie football before, good to see a mostly active community

well he's 100% aware of the issue, it was glaringly obvious as soon as NDSU lost that we'd be hosting another game. yet, with the last 4 days to discuss an alternative, nothing has come up, with the AGGIE newsletter already going out... unless an announcement came today it seems inherently unlikely that anything will change -- meaning there will be no student section at the game.

This is why we've been talking about getting a tailgate spot for next season and putting the AST banner back up.
This is something we used to do in the old tailgate lot (where Biggs Field is presently). Feels like its been a loooooong time!

The media, including some who specialize on FCS games are invariably reference “a ton of injuries” or “ depleted” when evaluating Davis. Davis is currently playing without two guys who were starters at the beginning of the season, but those two missed the entire Big Sky season and Davis was arguably the second best defensive team in the conference. Would the team be better if they still had Bell, Garretson, Totten, etc yes, but that doesn’t match up with the beat up defense limping into the playoff story. Just hope that Psyk is good to go, and they don’t get anyone else hurt.

that's awesome. we should 100% get something going. as a student i can guarantee you the kids are looking for fun before games. biggs has been a great spot with a lot of welcoming people this season, had a lot of fun there before games.

I'm OK if they underestimate us. I'm surprised we can even show up. /s

I just got an email that all Junior Aggie members will be admitted for free (someone must have donated to cover them, because they weren't free last week), so maybe we'll get from more berm families out there on Saturday.

The Bermites were late arriving on Saturday night, but there were some hard core kids and families doing their thing out there in the second half. Balls were flying, bodies were rolling at high speed down the berm, a few little dudes were strutting their stuff when the scoreboard went Flex Cam. Great scene!!!

Yes, so the least the Housing folks could do is allow them storage space. Maybe it's too much to ask (liability, IDs, etc.)?

    Regarding last year's matchup:
"[Lan Larison] he was...it was a nightmare....that whole part of it"
I thought that was pretty funny.

He says Davis was bigger and faster in person than he was expecting last year after watching on film. I feel like West Coast BSC teams still get labeled as "weak" or "soft" ...but that's changing.

I like this guy! Sort of an Andy Reid vibe to him. His comments about NDSU bodybuilders at about the 15 minute mark are great.

Reading body language, he definitely respects Plough and our team speed. "Bigger and faster than expected." He's an accomplished coach and very good at what he does, teams are perennial playoff teams, if they lose, it will be from travel fatigue and that UCD is better.

Ticket sales are around where they were last Friday and its only Tuesday... a crowd is gonna be important for the potential last home game this year!

I can't believe housing is kicking playoff student athletes out of the dorms. Weak. Rocco pulled no strings?

I bet they find some money to house 30 guys at a downtown hotel. Rates are low this weekend. $3000 would cover it easily

Can the problem be solved externally? - Yes. Should the problem exist in the first place? - No.

For as much joy as coaches and professors may find, mid-level bureaucrats in areas like student affairs and student housing have found none, long suffering from stubborn policy absolutism. Hopefully they can find what joy is.

Sounds like they found a solution to the issue. Wonder why it couldnt be replicated here? When the two stadiums have different atmospheres and results, it will be apparent why.

On the other hand you have Oklahoma who is moving UP finals by 4 days to accommodate the CFP. Even if our school was somehow in that position, I would hope it wouldn't happen.

one advantage they had was being the fourth seed - they had a few weeks to plan for this likely home game (well, the game this weekend).

Okay I have been brooding over this whole crap-show of housing stuff and yeah its so dumb. First of all, as everyone seems to have mentioned student turnout was already going to be crappy right after finals week, but kicking everyone out the morning of the game is really goofy, extend it by a damn day! We already have a decent amount of students graduating who can't go (im projecting  ) but my point stands that they already have factors going against them that hurt attendance, this seems like a no brainer.

Also, this is really really goofy in an era of NIL and recruiting at the height of our program. Having players sleeping on the floor of Plough's house or at a Motel 6 in your own damn college down the day of the game screams amateur hour.

The good news (environment wise) is ticket sales are pretty strong, should be a good crowd if the sales reflect on the ground support. May and the university have been pretty awesome about athletics, you would think they could work this out.

Despite the dorm issues and the worries about moderate to low attendance...these are problems I'd rather have than traveling to Fargo.

I consider December already blessed in Davis...and the little bit of weather on the horizon isn't slated to come in until next week.

I just talked with Dr. May. The Dorms will stay open for the players and any student needing housing who wishes to stay and watch the game throughout the playoffs. They released a statement yesterday.

That’s outstanding news. I’m sure that was difficult it to accomplish; great job to whomever pushed this through.
