Montana St did a lot to lose that game and it definitely could have gone either way.

Really tough way to lose for Illinois St.

Monkey off Vigen’s back. I’m sure posters are going g from fire him to “he’s great”. Sort of like the hot seat Dr Pepper commercial.

Last throw had to be the longest completion for Lamson this year

I don’t think they deserved it after missing that PAT. However Montana St almost had a double digit number of false starts. Overall very peak football

I just thought ISU showed a lot more gumption on their comeback. Pretty tough to lose on lousy kicking - but they all count. Aggie special teams were not stellar this year.

I don't understand the hate for Lamson. 6th in FCS passing efficiency with 24 TD's and just 3 picks.

Congrats to the Bobcats - proof that no matter what your breed, you need some breaks to get the Championship. The special teams to finish the game were atrocious on both sides --- gotta be air-tight in the kicking game! Hope Plough makes a conscious effort to improve the special teams this off-season, be it through coaching and scheme or finding a kickoff specialist who can actually drill a touchback consistently.

i really thought ISU outcoached and outplayed the Bobcats. They made some big adjustments on defense that really shut down MSU in the second half and they methodical game plan on offense (short pass, option pass, power running) put them in a position for a huge upset victory. Have a probable game winning FG blocked and returned to field goal range.....just to see MSU screw the pooch with terrible play calling and execution to put them out of field goal range. Wild.

9 false starts and a few more bad snaps on miscommunication? from a team that just won at Montana, the loudest stadium in FCS? I don't know if it was the late shifts on the DL by ISU or if they were making some noises on those shifts that caused the chaos, but that was inexcusable!

Quite sloppy indeed - my Dad and I were texting back in forth how undisciplined the Bobcats looked in the second half. Nerves were running high.

Bad football. Bad showing for FCS aside from how well the two programs traveled. Neither team deserved to win.

I have never seen a season with more false starts and more snap infraction penalties.

We should be encouraged, Aggie fans. We are closer than it feels right now.

My biggest concerns are the Connors, and replacing our DE. I don't think we find another beast like that. Can we mine the Ivies for more grad studs?

From a coaches perspective it was no doubt bad football, but as a fan, it was great. Teams showed athleticism, followed bad plays with great ones, game was competitive until the last moment, enthusiastic fans.

Ivy players do not redshirt, they must complete their time in four seasons, so that is the best source for grad transfers.
Another source might be someone who played JC ball and then graduated from a four year school, if the JC years don’t count again this year.

Spot on with the DE, he was better than advertised. Dude can play. Riveraggie is on the money, the Ivies get those guys in and out in four and even promise to help place guys at "bigger" programs after the graduate. Pretty good deal for kids.

Also, it was definitely an entertaining game from a fan perspective and there were some athletic plays. It was just all the guys choking down the stretch that made it hard to watch. Maybe I was just frustrated by the way it ended for UCD and had some anger issues watching it, but you're right, it was fun in spite of myself!

Ivy players can get a medical waiver, though

Fantastic finale for the FCS season. And it was a great atmosphere in Nashville. Makes me wonder if we need to push for FBS at all. If we were a constant 10 top FCS team, getting home playoff games and the goal of getting to Nashville, it might be more attractive than hoping to get to 6 or 7 wins and a trip to the Potato Bowl or New Mexico Bowl.

but no non medical redshirt. So barring an early season injury any Ivy player who played less than three or four games (I’m not sure which due to the 10 game schedule) in any of the four seasons has a year of eligibility after graduating.
