Maybe a stout D lineman in the Toki FB role is safer for the playoffs / big games?
Plough beat you to it, but its an O-lineman, AJ Hasson, referred to as Paul initially on the broadcast when he lined up as as wideout and then went in motion.
“We have some packages in our game plan for AJ,” said Plough of Hasson. “He’s doing a lot of great things for us on offense and special teams.” reports the Davis Enterprise.
He hasn’t carried the ball yet but Toki and Maae initially were used as blockers.
I believe my idea might have been first last year.
FCS / Week #8:
"Idea: do we have a brusing FB to clear space for LL? Should we try Nick Afato (LB, 225) or Rex Connors (210)? Think about Afato... he played QB in high school, while Connors came to mind when I saw him return his pick 6. He's an athlete. Even if Afato is a decoy, play him against No Colorado, he gets on tape.
"Idea #2 Amone (300#s) or Toki (375#s) at FB ala Fridge Perry."
They are fifth year players, used their redshirt year as freshmen. They already played in four games this year which unless they play two games in the playoffs is more than the maximum,
NCAA Guidelines for Medical Redshirting

The injury must occur in the first half of the season.
The athlete must not have competed in more than 30% of the season's competitions (rounded up when necessary).
Documentation from a qualified medical professional is required.
I won't be able to watch the game since my wife and I are in Paris and the game will be starting on Sunday at 2 a.m. here. I won't know the result until later on Sunday morning here and won't be able to watch a replay since ESPN is blocked outside of the USA.
Hopefully, there will be a video of the whole game posted on YouTube or elsewhere at some point and I'll be able to watch it then. So, if any of you see one, please post it on our forum. Merci beaucoup and GO AGS!
The only game that Cal Poly has been favored this season was Western Oregon. We were 3 point dogs against San Diego and 16.5 point dogs against Sac State.
Cal Poly's online game notes don't provide depth charts. I looked through news articles about the game over the course of the week with no info. One poster on Poly's forum said that Dieffenbach didn't practice, but it sounded more like speculation than fact. I would say that if the Ags prepared for Dieffenbach then they are prepared for any of their options at QB.
I really appreciate all of the news about the team and this game, especially the preview by CA Forever. I had no idea that the Conner brothers were hurt or that Rex got hurt running the football. Hope the D will play next man up like the 49ers did on Thursday. Looking forward to watching and following everyone's posts today.
