    Is there a remaining summer session or a local community college we can enroll him into for credit recovery? Need that dude

    2026 Summer Sessions
    * Session I: June 22 - July 31
    * Session II: Aug. 3 - Sept. 11
    * Special Session: June 12 - Sept. 11

    Purely conjecture but best-case scenario might be he misses the first 3 games with a summer session completion. Whatever the situation, the academic integrity of the University comes first.

    In hindsight when Colter and Samuel Akem interviewed Gbatu at media day, when asked about someone to watch for Gbatu said “Zach Jones” and not Dobbins. That may have been an indicator - but just speculation.

    On the mention of Zach Jones instead of Dobbins, Dobbins who appeared in 27 games over 2 years and made 12 starts might not be “someone to watch for”, as an already familiar story. And Dobbins didn’t participate in spring ball (injured?). Zach Jones did participate in spring ball, would have been in excellent shape as he was on the Davis track team which overlapped. In addition Zach Jones was racking up stats at end of last year, running and receiving, 7 touchdowns in 20 touches if i recall correctly.

    Since Rex wasn't dressed during scrimmage, does that mean he is not fully healthy?

    Surprisingly good coverage of the scrimmage. I was able to read it although i don’t subscribe.

    This is not the first time I've seen the field called Bog Biggs field

    In all honesty, after everything that has happened and all that Rex has already shown on the field. Why even risk him in a scrimmage? If he's healthy or just 90%, I'd sit him either way...maybe ramp it up next week..

    What's the over/under on Rex getting any rushes this season?

    What were Eason's stats in the scrimmage?

    I find it hard to believe that Rex will be available until at least SMU or right after it given the injury timeline and the "regular" recovery period.

    They should throw him back there as a decoy and run a play action pop pass to the TE. Very little risk of injury as long as he doesn't trip. A passing TD would be awesome and show some real cahones by Plough

    ya, weird to see these errors. Gbatu is apparently from "Temeluca"

    The dude should have taken care of his classwork. He is, after all, a “student athlete” and not here just to play football.

    We don't know the circumstances so I'm not going to pass judgement. That's not making excuses for him; 2.0 should be easily attainable, especially with the guidance counseling and support services available to today's student-athlete. However, shit does happen. Let's just hope he figures it out, gets his degree, and plays out his eleigibility.

    Agree a 2.0 should be attainable let’s not attack a kid for something that we still have no real information about. We don’t even know if this is truly what it is or what his involvement was. And even if it is the case we all have made mistakes. Let’s just hope he gets back on track. Seems like a good kid.

    Agree with your take. It's frustrating, because we all know it's something that Dobbins probably could've / should've been on top of. However, it's part of the growing up that takes place - hopefully - during college.

    Boy we must be itching for the season to start based on the activity on this board!
    On another note i saw a slak blogger on twitter claiming we turned down every offer they made to play us and suggested we were dodging them.

    they can come up with every excuse they want, but THEY are the ones who changed the circumstances of us not playing... not us. It's not our athletics department duty to cater to them.

    I would love if the guys did an after practice video update on what they saw for the day's practice. Stream it on youtube. I'd watch.

    Anyone want to venture a guess as to who replaces Dobbins’ 58 catches? Not that there are a lack of candidates, WR seemed a deep group. But no wide receivers besides Gbatu and Dobbins had more than 15 catches.

    I'm putting my money on the kid from Mater Dai or most likely an increase in TE targets.

    Sailor, exciting news about the Spain move. Interested in the whys, where’s and what’s of your moving to Spain. I myself have often thought of a move to Ireland, but never went through with it. Hope the fires are not affecting you. We went through that whole thing over here in Sonoma County a few years back. Not fun!

    Viva from Espana! After two decades of serving outside the US, it was hard for me and the family to settle back in the states. When i served in Spain the family really fell in love with the place. Once I retired we decided to sell it all and retire out here. We are in southern Spain in a small town called Rota. Plan is to open my jazz bar next year pending the wonderful Spanish beaucracy! Life out here is great. Great for raising a family and travel is amazing. Taking the kids to London in a couple weeks to watch Hamilton (front row seats are like $100). Guess how much the flights are? $130 total for five seats!! Crazy right? You should definetly make the. move to Ireland. I love it up there. Be Bold!!! Do not go gently into the night!

    Glad you're spending your retirement the way you want. We summer (late May - mid September) at our cabin in MT on Flathead Lake, about an hour south of Glacier, and the rest of the year in Davis. Works well for us...get the best of both areas...and soon hope to be able to throw some shade on our MT friends & neighbors - all Griz or Wildcat fans (maniacs). LOL

    Rota is on the SW coast, correct? N of Gibraltar? Our granddaughter, 7th grade at the time was in Salou (Near Barcelona) last Thanksgiving with a travel team for a soccer tournament. She really enjoyed the little she was able to experience - grueling game schedule. But she loved it, as your family seems to.

    Glad you're still keeping in touch via AST - I'm looking forward to revisiting our debate over your CA Conference idea at some point. :>)

    Keep us informed about your jazz bar. Our youngest is a jazz pianist in the Sacramento area - making a good living at it. Has played the evening entertainment at the Legends Golf Tournament at Pebble Beach. Did you ever visit Twin Lotus Thai in Sacramento before you moved? Started and owned by Joe Gilman, Sac State piano professor and his wife (she's Thai) as a music venue. In a strip mall on Folsom not to far from Hornet Hive. Has been very successful for local talent as well as touring artists.

    Best wishes
