Brutal news, but Harper has been around the block. Maybe not a ton of game experience, but he's a vet and I expect the offense to still get the ball moving. Northern Colorado definitely is susceptible to the run so could be big games from Fish and Vargas.
This game is really important. If they win this game, I think they will make the playoffs. A loss here means they will have to sweat it out. I'm not convinced they make it with 7 wins.
Harvard up 21-14 at half with Princeton. Could they get a seed? Playing them in the playoffs could be fun and scary. I could see students attending for that game.
Jim Speck 1973 -1976 was a true freshman in era before redshirt freshmen at Davis is in the hall of fame. He is in the hall of fame. As a freshman Speck played in Davis’32-31 Thanksgiving weekend loss to Boise State and passed for over 300 yards in that game. That was an era when Davis was outsized by major D2 scholarship programs like Boise. Boise narrowly lost in the final seconds in the D2 Semifinals. Davis beat Nevada and Santa Clara that year ending 7-3 record.
Caden Pinnick has to be in contention for the best Freshman performance at QB as an Aggie.
That claim doesn't go to Biggs, Peterson, or even O'Brien. Randy Wright is one of the few to have started as a Frosh (wasn't he even a true Freshman?).
I read that Pinnick rode the train from Sacramento to attend Spring ball while still in high school. That means he had two Spring camps before he played (??).
Well, I think that's the final punch in the face for the Griz. I'm still not sure which team winning tonight benefits the Ags more. Doesn't really matter though, just gotta beat the Bears tomorrow.
He also said that the opportunity to earn a degree rather than a certificate was a factor. With the new NCAA rules I suspect some schools are offering grad students just a semester scholarship. Some schools have no program offering a masters degree in a year.
The Griz will be looking to make a statement tonight. If we can keep winning, the Montana brawl game should help settle the top 5 so I’ve got to root for Montana tonight.
In Fantasyland, who cares about the turf because they will be playing in front of 40,000 at Cal Expo momentarily. If they get any games scheduled that is.
I understand, completely, pushing the envelope and trying new things...being bold when one feels like things aren't working, etc.
In this case, Dr. Wood exhibits behavior unbecoming of a university president. The people in the Sac State Office of the President need to step in and straighten him out. He is doing damage. Having another concert tonight is a bad decision for safety reasons (obviously), but also cost concerns will now arise that the school will need to answer to.
I can't imagine the uproar if any UC chancellor behaved in this way. Especially Chancellor May.....or maybe people would fall in line / not care, who knows. Hopefully Davis never has to find out. The whole thing has been pretty bad.
I think it was Ch 10 that ran the clips of the Sac State President dumping on Montana. I was thinking "who IS this guy" because I thought he was someone in the athletic department. But nope. I mean you can be behind your team but dissing Montana like they were a second rate team from the sticks who only win because they play weak teams . . . it was beyond the pale. Shame on Sac State. I hope no one at UCD goes this route EVER.
