They are premium box and club seats, so they will make more money than beer garden tickets. ALSO, the new club is designed to host events year round. For example, My HS prom was hosted at Cal Memorial Stadium in their club. Davis can host events year round at their club too.

How does ANYONE know that there hasn’t been people donating towards the renovation. Why, because it hasn’t been announced that building has commenced?

Historically we get a big media releases when there is a donation...like with Aggie Stadium, and Edwards.
All we've seen is an email and campaign asking for us to pay for it, right? It doesn't appear that there is big money pouring in. I'm pretty sure we'd be hearing all about it.

Typically there is a silent fundraising period. A colleague in the field told me the former standard was 30% to 50% of funds have to be raised before any announcement, and often 1/3 comes from one big donor.

FTR, even w hosting the Big Game, Stanford averaged 28,000 fan attendance last year.

I emailed the department and asked and they said we are currently working through our fundraising period and will share an update with the public when possible

In my experience, nothing is announced without a degree of funding secured. That % differs by project, scope, and institution.

South End Zone- keep as grass. I would add Redwoods behind the score board. It is a pet peeve of mine that we did a half ass try to add Redwoods but some died, some look unhealthy/stunted and only 2 actually look healthy. And we are supposedly an ag school :(

Hot dang this is actually pretty good! This would be an ideal situation imo. Get that revenue stream and different types of seating with the beer garden on the north side (especially since the team store or whatever is not really used there anyways) and then keep that character of the grass under the screen that everyone loves. I love how you got that press box in, the only thing different obviously would be that its gonna be taller and wider than this ai version (as you mentioned). I think the final version will create a nice sound barrier to continue making the stadium feel more bowl-like than it already is. That leads me to the only major thing I would hope would look different in my brain which would be to improve concession buildings on the east side to be larger and able to handle more people (maybe design in mind to have stands built on top at some point?

I think the first “master plan is pretty realistic for what we can expect. I think a 30k seat stadium would be best. I think at least half of the end zone should be seats and not just a beer garden tho.

With all that money for new stadium / club section, how about roof accommodations for cameras?

Those renderings are very cool. This AI stuff is going to put a lot of graphic designers out of business unfortunately. Remember when Sac State paid 300k for bad cartoon renderings of a stadium that wasn't even accurate?

Wonder how much that "Master Plan" rendering you showed above would cost in today's dollars?.. Probably wouldn't be super expensive as the stadium has that 2nd deck already planned for and that would start at ground level. Suites above it would be really cool, that part is more expensive because it would be elevated.

That rendering is pretty much exactly what I am hoping Cal Poly replaces the East Side stands with something similar to that. Ours would cost more because it starts at ground level though.

I was there yesterday. They are building something big in the field north of the genomics building next to the west side of the stadium. Hard to tell what its going to be, but i speculated a parking structure.

The AI got a bit aggressive with my redwoods idea- ha. I would have redwoods in the grass areas south of the stadium, not extending into the parking lot.

However, I would not have a single row of trees like they tried before. According to the tiny bit of research I did when I considered planting redwoods in the east bay, the best way to give redwoods a chance in a less than ideal environment is using 3 tree clusters. It really annoys me that someone had a great idea to plant redwoods but we didn't give them a great chance of being healthy... and we're supposedly an Ag school.

I do admit I have an unusual interest in redwood trees. I've probably made 4-5 posts about them in a college football forum- lol

The natural range of Redwoods corresponds to where they have summer fog, they get a lot of their moisture through the leaves. Might be hard to grow in davis successfully Maybe Sequoias might do better as their range is not defined by fog. Dont know. I live in the north bay and see a lot of water stressed Redwoods and we do get summer fog but not enough.

Aren't there redwoods near Putah Creek / Mrak?

My son lives in Elk Grove and has 4 or 5 big beautiful red woods. Its true in nature they get a lot of their water through transpiration but from what I’ve seen when used in landscaping they survive fine from just being itrigated.
